Publisher's Description

Welcome to your August edition. While August is a time for holidays and fun for most of us, I just want to wish good luck to all those students getting their GCSE and A-level results this month. My daughter took the IB and got her results back in July and I have to admit I’m glad the stress of waiting is over. Talking about stress, planning a wedding comes with its fair share, so check out our wedding extra to help make the big day of your dreams come true. And if you’re thinking of a city break for your honeymoon, or for just a well-earned rest, the Portuguese capital Lisbon really is a gem to be discovered. Closer to home, a report has revealed that people living here in Kent are the most generous when it comes to charity, so we catch up with local residents and volunteers, businesses and organisations making a difference in our community. On the art scene, the countdown to the rich and diverse annual Canterbury Festival starts here, so make a date in your diary, plus we’ve got three pairs of season tickets to Canterbury Rugby Club to give away!
