Publisher's Description

In 1990, Thomas Sheldon Kilpatrick CBE wrote down his memoire of the Second World War and his RAF career which took him to Africa training pilots, then to piloting a Halifax on sorties over the Ruhr targeting Germany's industrial complex, before he escaped death when his parachute opened inside the cockpit of the stricken bomber. With maps, song lyrics, anecdotes and photographs - and a post-Thatcher view of what happened to the British steel industry he worked for. Several hundred copies of the book were printed but they are now a rarely-found collector's item. The original book document has been carefully revised for formatting as a PDF for all to read.
